Days after Mike Vick returned to the NFL, Brett Favre must have felt left out.

After retiring again for the 2nd time, Favre again returned the NFL, this time with the Vikings. Favre said in a press conference that his arm feels good and he would like to play again.

I don’t know what makes Favre decide that he is playing, he isn’t playing, he is playing, he isn’t playing now he is. Maybe it is just to get attention. Personally, I think he should have left the game on the high point of his career. I think now he is asking to leave the game because he is hurt, or sucks. I think he will ruin his legacy if he tries to play again. I want to see Favre vs. Vick. That is a sportscasters DREAM!!

You probably heard: Michael Vick is back in the National Football leauge with the Eagles. So many people are hounding him. PETA is pissed. Eagles fans are pissed. My question is WHY?

Let me ask you this: If you made a wrong choice (and I know you have) and you got caught, and did your time like a good American, wouldn’t you want the chance to prove yourself again in your career field? I know I would.

I am not saying the Vick did was wrong. It was horrific. BUT he did his time and never once tried to Paris Hilton his way out of it. LET HIM PLAY!

Vick as some strict rules on what he can and can’t do during the season per Roger Goodell. I personally, I think 2 years in prison has hindered his ability to play the game. Athletes at that level need to stay sharp all the time. A little drop in performance will make a HUGE difference. I don’t think he will be the same M. Vick, nor anywhere close. But I like that the Eagles are giving him the chance to prove me, and the rest of the doubters, wrong.

Stay off Vick. Let him play. Let him prove himself. Once he fails, then ridicule his ability to play the game, not for what he did in the past. The past is done, over, el fin. Look forward to him as a football player and start critiquing that. I am not a professional analyst, but I know if I were, talking about his past is NOT MY JOB. Your job as an analysis (talking to you ESPN, ABC sports and MSN) is to ANALYSIS the game and the moves. So please, don’t talk about his past. Or if you don’t think he should play. Or if you agree with PETA. Talk about Vick’s inability to throw a football. Or the fact that he will not be able to outrun Shawn Merriman. But talk about football, PLEASE!

The saga of Michael Vick continues. Following a 21 month prison sentences and consequently, 2 seasons off from Football, Michael Vick is released from prison to go under house arrest. His expected release day is mid-July.

Vick took a full time construction job to make a few extra bucks to pay back some money (he filed for bankruptcy a few months back).

So now the question comes down to this: Will M. Vick play again in the NFL?

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has said that Vick needs to do more than just apologize. He truly needs to regret what he has done.

Former Colt’s coach Tony Dungee visited Vick in prison and said that Vick has changed and wants another shot.

So what do you think? Not only if you WANT him to play in the NFL again, but CAN he play in the NFL again?

Here is my take on it:
Michael Vick has done some terrible things in his life, who hasn’t? I would bet that there are some other professional athletes who have done worse things than Vick and not been caught. Vick got caught, and service his punishment till the end. He never once pulled a Paris Hilton and cried his way back home, or use his star power to weasel out of prison. He took his punishment and faced the consequences. To me, when his time is fully up, he is just as much of a free man as you or I. He should be reinstated to the NFL and get the chance to play, if he can hack it.

Can he physically play in the NFL? I highly doubt it. It is hard to think that, even an athlete of his caliper, can take 2 years off and not miss a beat. He was a great quarterback when it came to scrambling and moving, but his arm was already sub par at best. I personally think, if he was to get reinstated, he would not be able to comeback full swing. He will not be able to help any NFL team and his comeback will be nothing more than a one time story on SportCenter.

But I truly hope that Vick gets the chance to prove me wrong.

Good Luck Michael Vick. You still have a long road ahead.

You always love rooting for the underdog.

Last season, when San Diego’s star RB LT went down for the count, 5 foot 6 in Darren Sproles came in and did a 328 total yard game. He became one of the leagues premier running backs in one game.

And now he gets paid like one.

Sproles signed a one year deal worth 6.25 million dollars. The kid is only 25 years old! Not a bad raise at that age if you ask me (made a little over 1 mil last year). He now ranks with the average salary of star running backs as he should.

He becomes a free agent at the end of the year. My opinion is you drop the dead weight called LT and you give the little guy his chance to show the NFL what he can do. You let him go and rely on LT, you are going to watch him blow up on another team. Being a S.D. boy, I want to see him blow up here. LT is past his game. He offers a great mentor to Sproles, but when push comes to shove, I think Sproles needs to be our every down back.

What do you think?

You have the curse of the bambino, which supposedly prevented the Red Sox from winning a championship for 86 years because they traded Babe Ruth. And then there is the sports illustrated curse, which is supposed to give bad luck to everyone who graces the cover the Sports Illustrated. And yes, there is even a San Diego sports team curse-Stating that professional sports team in our lovely city cannot win any sort of championships.

Whether or not you believe in curses, they are kind of fun to follow. Here is a new one that has surfaced recently that I have been watching: The Madden video game curse. This curse causes anyone who is on the cover to get hurt the next year.

It all started in 2000 when Madden featured star running back Barry Sanders in the background of the case. Subsequently, curse or no curse, Barry Sanders did not play a single down during the 2000 season. Players soon started following that role:

Dorsey Levens: Cover 2000. Bad new throughout season, and let go by the packs.

Daunte Culpepper: Cover 2002-Knee injury, missed 5 games.

Marshall Faulk: Cover 2003-After 4 1300+ seasons, ankle injury dropped is rush yards to under 1000

Michael Vick: Cover 2004: Broke fibular during pre season game.

Ray Lewis: Cover 2005: Tore hamstring-missed half the season.

Donovan McNabb: Cover 2006: After stating that the Madden curse was “A trend” and he “don’t believe in the curse at all” McNabb suffers a sports hernia in the first game of the seasons (do you hear me know….GOOD!)

Shaun Alexander: Cover 2007: Broke book and missed 6 games during the season.

Vince Young: Cover 2008: Hurt quadricep missed 2 games.

Curse or no curse, that is quite a trend going on with the cover of this game. This next release will be a great indicated as it features 2 prime athletes: Steelers Troy Polamalu and Cardinals Larry Fitzgerald. I don’t believe in curses either, but I can tell you that I will be watching the injury report this year to see how this guys do through the season.

Any sports fan have heard about the whole green bay packers vs. Brett Favre story. Favre retired, but wants to play again, and Green Bay will not release him.

MSN reported this morning that Favre could be in a Tampa Bay uniform as early as this weekend.

There has been numerous editorials about Favre and his retiring/not retiring/retiring/not retiring. Most of the writers are saying that he needs to retire.

I love sports. There is something about sports that show the good in people. It shows heart, determination, and will. A guy like Brett Favre epitomizes what sports is all about. Not just an amazing athlete, but a role model. He gives kids all around the world something to work for. To look up to. To create a dream and a goal for themselves. Now he is giving late 30-somethings the same attitude. I know that my dad sees Farve on sunday, and gets inspired to work out. I know my dad will never become an athlete, but if Brett Favre can be such a great athlete at his age, then my dad knows that the least he can do is to get of the couch and onto the treadmill.

Let Favre play. He loves the game and cannot stay away. Is that a bad thing? I don’t think so. Let me know what you think. There are so many opinions running around the world about Farve and his ability to play, I know you have an opinion. Speak Up.
Anyone remember Michael Vick? Yeah, that guy. He use to be the quarterback for the falcons, making millions of dollars. Well, in case you do not know, he went to jail for dogfighting, losing his prestigious career.

And just to make sure he has no dignity left, Michael Vick has filed for bankruptcy. He is over 10 million dollars in debt. According to his filing papers, Vick says that “after the conclusion of the bankruptcy case, rebuild his life on a personal and spiritual level, resurrect his image as a public figure, and resolve matters with the NFL such that he can resume his career,”.

Anyone think Michael Vick with play in the NFL again? Anyone want to see him play again? Speak up!
