Sonics Leave Seattle for 75 mil

July 3, 2008 in Uncategorized

Clay Bennett came to an agreement with the city of Seattle: 75 million dollars and we will move out of seattle.

As a result, the SuperSonics are headed to Oklahoma City. The settlement calls for Bennett to pay as much as 75 million in exchange for the immediate termination of their lease in Seattle. However, the team’s name and their colors will be staying in Seattle.

I personally think this is a good move. Oklahoma could be a great market for an NBA team. If anything, this controversy from Seattle and the SuperSonics may take heat away from A Rod and Madonna story.
